Part Time Support Worker - Bedford

Job Introduction

We’re all about possibilities. Are you?

Is community important to you? Are you outgoing, passionate and courteous?

Become a Support Worker.

What matters to the people we support matters to us. It’s their life, their way.

We are looking for someone to join our team supporting a gentleman with Learning Disabilities  in his own home in Kempston, Bedfordshire.

If you are good at cooking, managing a budget, planning and managing your time. Or just passionate about helping others, then you could be part of our team supporting people to maintain or learn new skills needed to live their best life!

This gentleman enjoys getting out and about and have his own vehicle, so you will need to be a driver and willing to drive his car. For this you should have a full UK manual driving licence and have held it for at least 1 year for insurance purposes.

This is a part time role for 15 hours per week, and you should be available to work shifts across the week and some weekends.

So, if you enjoy building meaningful relationships and think you could plan, communicate and deliver support with and alongside people, then this is the place for you.

Affinity Trust does not presently hold a Sponsorship Licence and while this status is reviewed regularly there is no present proposal to apply for such a Licence.

What will we do?

We will train you in everything you need to be a great support worker.  We will apply and pay for your enhanced DBS, and we have a mentorship scheme in place to provide support and guide you on your journey with us.

You will be entitled to annual leave with the ability to buy additional leave.

Fully funded health cash plans giving you access to a 24 hour GP, money back on prescriptions, dental treatment, opticians and access to many more health benefits.

We offer Wagestream - a money management app that gives you access to a percentage of your pay as you earn it, access to coaching, vouchers, discounts, cashback and more.

What will you do?

Supporting people is really important but it’s not all shopping trips and cooking. We also support people to take medication, assist with personal care, make healthy lifestyle choices and maintain their home in a way that they feel safe, well and happy.

If you want to empower the people we support in Bedford to live the life they choose, and you share our values… Apply to become a Support Worker today.

Ready to do things differently? Submit your application.

We’re committed to being Disability Confident and we guarantee to interview all applicants with a disability who meet the minimum criteria for the vacancy.
