Waking Night Support Worker - Newbury

Job Introduction

We’re all about possibilities. Are you?

Are you a night Owl?

Are you Patient, Empathetic and resilient?

Become a Waking night Support Worker.

What matters to the people we support matters to us. It’s their life, their way.

We are looking for someone to join our team working nights in our location in Newbury supporting adults with learning disabilities.

You will be working in their home, so it’s important you can connect. Some people may like to stay up late and watch a film, listen to Music with a hot chocolate, or enjoy a relaxing bath before going to bed. For others, they may be early risers and want your support to get up and ready for the day ahead, and so your role will be to provide responsive support during the night and early morning as required.

We have opportunity for a waking night staff to join the team working 4 nights per week (10pm - 6am)

You will need to be prepared to work flexibly, including weekends.

Ability to commute/relocate: post code RG14- You must be able to reliably commute for shift start times or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Affinity Trust does not presently hold a Sponsorship Licence and while this status is reviewed regularly there is no present proposal to apply for such a Licence.

What will we do?

We will train you in everything you need to be a great Support Worker. We will apply and pay for your enhanced DBS, and we have a mentorship scheme in place to provide support and guide you on your journey with us.

You will be entitled to annual leave with the ability to buy additional leave.

Fully funded health cash plans giving you access to a 24 hour GP, money back on prescriptions, dental treatment, opticians and access to many more health benefits.

We offer Wagestream - a money management app that gives you access to a percentage of your pay as you earn it, access to coaching, vouchers, discounts, cashback and more.

What will you do?

Supporting people is really important but it’s not all watching films and drinking Hot Chocolate. We also support people to take medication, assist with personal care and maintain their home in a way they feel safe and well, so you may be asked to support with some light household duties as well.

At times you will be required to attend training and team meetings during the day, outside of your normal night work pattern.

If you want to empower people to live the life they choose and you share our values… Apply to become a waking night Support Worker today.
