Job Introduction
We’re all about possibilities. Are you?
Are you outgoing and adventurous? Do love getting stuck into activities and passionate about providing support?
Become a Support Worker.
What matters to the people we support matters to us. It’s their life, their way.
We are looking for a bubbly and energetic person to join our team in Ashby.
You will be working alongside 3 people who share a bungalow with a big beautiful garden, and 1 person in their own home within the community. It is important that you can connect and share their interests. We need people like you to ensure they can live as independently as possible.
If you are energetic and love trying new activities and are passionate about helping people to access their community, then we want to hear from you. The people we support love to get out and about every day, they have a wide range of interests from following Leicester City to Elvis Presley, WWE wrestling to watching fun reality TV shows and they all love to eat out.
If you share any of these interests and are passionate about supporting people, you could be part of our team and help to support people to maintain or learn new skills needed to live their best lives!
You should be available to work a variety of shifts across the week and alternate weekends, including some sleep-in shifts as needed.
For this role we need you to be a driver with a full UK License and be willing to drive a mobility vehicle so you can get around Ashby and surrounding areas and make the most of the time you are spending with the people you support.
So, if you enjoy building meaningful relationships and think you could plan, communicate and deliver support with and alongside people, then this is the place for you.
Ability to commute/relocate: LE65 - You must be able to reliably commute for shift start times or plan to relocate before starting work (required).
Gender is considered to be a genuine occupational requirement in accordance with paragraph 1 of Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010.
Affinity Trust does not presently hold a Sponsorship Licence and while this status is reviewed regularly there is no present proposal to apply for such a Licence.
What will we do?
We will train you in everything you need to be a great Support Worker. We will apply and pay for your enhanced DBS, and we have a mentorship scheme in place to provide support and guide you on your journey with us.
We provide a package of benefits that make it that bit easier to be your best and we can also support you to achieve a Level 2 diploma in Health and Social Care and pursue a career that takes on more responsibility.
We offer Wagestream - a money management app that gives you access to a percentage of your pay as you earn it, access to coaching, vouchers, discounts, cashback and more.
You will be entitled to annual leave with the ability to buy additional leave.
Fully funded health cash plans giving you access to a 24 hour GP, money back on prescriptions, dental treatment, opticians and access to many more health benefits.
What will you do?
Supporting individuals is incredibly meaningful, and it goes beyond just outings and activities. We also assist people in managing their medications, making healthy lifestyle choices, and maintaining their homes to ensure they feel safe and well.
While it may sound exciting that no two days are alike in this role, we understand that for some, routine is comforting and change can be challenging. However, there’s nothing quite like the joy of helping someone embrace new experiences and discover their potential!
If you want to empower people to live the life they choose and you share our values… Apply to become a Support Worker today.
