Become a Support Worker
What matters to the people we support matters to us. It’s their life, their way.
We are looking for another female member to join our team working alongside a young lady with Autism in her own house near Bristol (BS7)
You will be working in this person’s home, so it’s important you can connect, share interests and be interested. This young lady enjoys being outdoors and walking, but also enjoys being at home crafting and accessing her sensory room.
To be part of this young lady’s team you will need to have experience supporting people with Learning disabilities and Autism and be able to demonstrate your understanding of supporting with complex behaviours or Positive Behaviour Support.
Above all you must have a great sense of humour, positive approach, be resilient and have a genuine desire to support her to maintain her quality of life and independence regardless of the potential barriers she sometimes faces.
This is a full-time role and you should be available to work shifts across the week and some weekends.
This young lady likes to get out and about and has her own vehicle, so you will need to be a driver and willing to drive her vehicles. For this you should have a full UK manual driving licence and have held it for at least 1 year for insurance purposes.
So if you enjoy building meaningful relationships and think you could plan, communicate and deliver support with and alongside people, then this is the place for you.
"Gender is considered to be a genuine occupational requirement in accordance with paragraph 1 of Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010".
Ability to commute/relocate: BS7 - You must be able to reliably commute for shift start times or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
