Job Introduction
We’re all about possibilities. Are you?
Are you a walking enthusiast? Have you got the time to spare to knock down a few strikes in the bowling alley? Are you a die-hard Disney fan?
And patience. Do you have patience and empathy?
Become a Bank Support Worker.
What matters to the people we support matters to us. It’s their life, their way.
We are looking for someone enthusiastic and encouraging to join our fantastic team in Chapeltown. We have 8 supported living services that serve 10 people, who all live in their own homes which are all in walking distance from one another.
You will be working in their own homes, so it’s important you can connect, share interests and be interested. The people we support love to get out into the community and enjoy a range of interests from Disney and bowling to shopping and walking. Helping to build and support positive relationships with others is important here. If you are good at cooking, managing a budget, or just passionate about helping others, then you could be part of our team supporting people to maintain or learn new skills needed to live their best life!
If you enjoy building meaningful relationships and think you could plan, communicate and deliver support with and alongside people, then this is the place for you.
You should be available to work a variety of shifts across the week including long days, sleep-in shifts and alternate weekends. You do not need to be able to drive for this role, however, a full UK Driving Licence is preferable.
Gender is considered to be a genuine occupational requirement in accordance with paragraph 1 of Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010.
Ability to commute/relocate: S35 - You must be able to reliably commute for shift start times or plan to relocate before starting work (required).
Affinity Trust does not presently hold a Sponsorship Licence and while this status is reviewed regularly there is no present proposal to apply for such a Licence.
What will we do?
We will train you in everything you need to be a great Bank Support Worker. We can also support you to achieve a Level 2 diploma in Health and Social Care and pursue a career that takes on more responsibility.
What will you do?
Supporting people is really important but it’s not all trips out and artwork. We also support people to take their medication, make healthy lifestyle choices or maintain their home in a way they are safe and well.
It sounds exciting to say no two days will be the same, but in support, sometimes they are. Sometimes people like routine and struggle with change… But when you support someone to try something new – what a feeling!
If you want to empower people to live the life they choose and you share our values… Apply to become a Support Worker today.
Ready to do things differently? Submit your application.
We’re committed to being Disability Confident and we guarantee to interview all applicants with a disability who meet the minimum criteria for the vacancy.
